Brest Fortress is a symbol of heroic defense and fortitude, which took the first blow of the German troops on June 22, 1941. In 1965, it was awarded the title of "Hero Fortress", and now it is the largest memorial complex in Belarus, perpetuating the memory of the defenders.
On May 7, the Brest Hero Fortress Memorial complex hosted a ceremony of reburial of the remains of the defenders of the legendary citadel over the Bug River.
Today we bow our heads before the bright memory of the soldiers of the Red Army who defended the freedom and independence of our Motherland during the Great Patriotic War at the cost of their lives.
